Kamik® Snowshield Pac Boots

Kamik® Snowshield Pac Boots
Do your feet get cold while ice fishing or snow blowing? Mine for sure do. I have been looking for a Pac Boot that would keep my feet warm. I have poor circulation in my feet, so it doesn't take much for them to get cold. Once my feet get cold, it's game over. I received these boots as a gift this past christmas and I have put them to the test. They pass! My feet have gotten cold in every other pair of boots I have. I hate wearing thick heavy socks because they restrict my toes. With these boots...

Eskimo Fatfish 949i

Eskimo Fatfish 949i
Eskimo Fatfish 949i I had been looking for a nice hub-style fish house ever since they came out. I bet I looked at every brand that is out there. Every time I was near a sporting goods store I had to stop. I felt like a little kid because I had to go into every house. So then it was decision time. Do I get the Clam or the Eskimo? Lease Land from Landowners for hunting.

Lease Land from Landowners for hunting.
Since moving to Minnesota, hunting has been different for me. When I lived kn Kansas the family had 5,000 acres of land. I could hunt anywhere I wanted. I wasn't really aware of "public land". I did not have to deal with any other hunters. Even though we leased some of the acreage to hunters, I never had to deal with them that much. Hunting on "public land" has presented itself with many challenges. So I have decided to try and go get permission from some of the local landowners. I'm not sure how to approach some of them, so I...

4 inch Vanes VS 2 inch Blazer Vanes
4 inch Vanes VS 2 inch Blazer Vanes   The debate over 4 inch vanes or 2 inch Blazer vanes is one that will never be decided.  I have read many articles and forums that are on both sides of the fence.  Many say the 4 inch vane has better stability, especially with broad heads.  Many also say the 2 inch vane offers more speed and penetration.  With some saying they have tested both and have not come to many proven conclusions, other then it’s personal preference.  I recently talked to a shop owner, who said he had talked with...

Taking Better Trophy Photos

Taking Better Trophy Photos
Everyone likes to take a photo of that trophy buck, fish, turkey, bear, etc., etc. Unfortunately many hunters and fisherman don’t understand how to take a great photo of their trophy that highlights the animal, and where it was taken.  A lot of us either don’t understand or don’t take the time.  I myself have taken photos of my “Big Buck” on the back of a trailer, or my “Huge Bass” in front of the garage.  Even though I am a photographer and I know what it takes, sometimes I just don’t take the time.  The memories just are not the...
