Hot Shot Eclipse Thumb Release

Hot Shot Eclipse Thumb Release

I want to tell you about the Hot Shot Manufacturing Eclipse Thumb release. I picked up this release a few years ago. The release is by far my favorite archery release. When I first got it I couldn't help but tell how well built it was. This thing is sold. It comes with 2 springs to adjust the release from a light release to a harder release. At first I did and advise you try the harder spring. Especially if you have never used a thumb release before. I soon found myself changing over to the light spring once I felt more confident with it.

The release comes with many adjustments to fit the form of your hand. It has a large thumb barrel, which I really like. Not all releases come with this. You can adjust the angle of the barrel as well as how far in or out you want it. You can adjust the travel, which means how soon the release will go off. It comes with extra parts and allen wrenches to make all your adjustments.

Once you get it adjusted to your hand the fun begins. I have never had this release go off prematurely. It only goes off when I intend for it to. Once you find your anchor point with the release you will start to see tight groups. Possibly even robin hooding your arrows. It has a trigger set so you can clip it onto your D-loop, which is great in a hunting situation. I am not a fan of having a wrist release dangling off my hand. It does come with an adjustable wrist strap if you prefer also. I have mainly used this release in target and 3D shooting situations but is also great for bow hunting. My archery mentor told me the best thing I did for my 3D archery was to start using this release. The scores prove it.

The design of the release fits the hand very well for a rock solid draw. Made from a high-grade aluminum that feels light in the hand. It comes in a 3 finger and 4 finger version. I have shot both and prefer the 4 finger version myself. The release comes with a Lifetime Warranty so if you do have any issues with it. Just send it back to Hot Shop Mfg. and they will repair or replace it. I highly recommend this release for anyone who is looking for a great thumb release for a lifetime.
