Thermacell heated insoles

Thermacell heated insoles
I received the insoles in December and was super excited to try them out on some cold hunts. The first time I took them out it was 34 degrees. I wore a pair or thermal socks and used the insoles and my feet stayed plenty warm. The next two occasions I used them was in 15 degree or lower temps. I was wearing 400-gram boots and somewhat thin socks as recommended in the instructions. My feet froze. I don't believe these are made for temperatures much below freezing unless you have heavy boots.  The insoles were built well and held up...

Excellent review. Thanks for providing it. Most of the heat supplement products for boots won't be hot enough to keep our feet war... Read More

I did like them much more this year with heavier boots, I could definitely tell once the batteries died.

Cabela’s Outfitter Series Folding Sheath Knife

Cabela’s Outfitter Series Folding Sheath Knife
Luckily I was able to get this new knife in time for my spring turkey hunting trip, I was able to dress out two birds quickly due to the extremely shard blade. I know dressing out two turkeys shouldn't dull a blade, but many knives would be dulled after cutting into just one bird. This wasn't the case with this knife; it's just as sharp now as it was out of the box. The only negative I found was that the sheath had Velcro on it. For a hunting knife I am not a fan of a sheath with Velcro, too...

HHA Optimizer Lite Ultra DS-5519

HHA Optimizer Lite Ultra DS-5519
Review of HHA Optimizer Lite Ultra DS-5519 by Matt Hiatt This summer I decided I wanted to change the sights on my bow, so I started looking around at the endless sights available for hunting bows. I narrowed my search down to the HHA Optimizer Lite Ultra DS-5519. Below is how I came to my decision to make the change to the HHA Optimizer and a review on the product. Here are the reasons I chose this sight: -HHA is a great company that sells American made products with a 100% Lifetime Warranty. -Reputation: I know many hunters who use HHA...

Duluth Pack-Cruiser Combo Pack

Duluth Pack-Cruiser Combo Pack
My packs have followed me everywhere from hiking the Grand Canyon to canoeing the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. I seem to always have that little stitched leather moose logo near me in tough situations and it has never failed me. I started with a small Scout pack by Duluth Pack and increased in size as time has gone by.About three years ago before heading to the BWCAW, I decided that I would upgrade from my Kelty pack and purchased a #3 Cruiser Combo pack. It has held up and surpassed my expectations! The craftsmanship is unmatched! I have gone...

A Sight that takes it to the next level!

A Sight that takes it to the next level!
Coming from a long time bowhunter, "over four decades".  I've seen alot of changes in archery equipment, for the better! One item that I really have seen change in all kinds of configurations is the bow sight. Everthing from single-pin to three to six pin sights! Everyone seems to think theirs is the way to go! There are a lot of good sights out there and picking one would be a personal preference. One thing I've learned is to try to keep things simple. That is why I like HHA products. Shooting the one-pin sight gives me the simplicity on "picking the spot".  Not being confused...
