No, it is a 91 acre piece South off of 34 before Osage. The "River Runs Thru It" off of a pivot, which gets rotated with beans, wheat and potatoes.

I was just down at a 91 acre heaven in the Park Rapids area this weekend. Multiple food plots, trails planted in clover, watering holes at each of the over 10 plots, which are planted in a variety of different items. Clover, turnips, alfalfa...and more to be planted in August. It was amazing! I wish I would have gotten some pics, but seeds stuck to wet and muddy gloves don't do well with a camera all the while it rained....hopefully next time!

With a strict bucks only and over a certain size only rule their hard work, planning and consistentcy has PAID OFF. This property has produced some BIG BOYS. I am excited to have the opportunity to hunt this piece this fall!! A little aprehensive, although, since I am usually a freezer filler hunter and not a wall filler hunter! :)

Awesome to see your photos, Jim!! I hope it all pays off for you in the fall!! Looks like you have a good plan! :)

Army Worms HAVE RETURNED. The invasion has begun! UGH! Sounds like RAIN in the sunny woods with those crunching little buggers munching away on all of the grouse cover.

dusty trails I agree....they are terrible. And, tough on the grouse population!

dusty trails Sorry, Honky Kong! I didn't see your post. I was on Red Lake chasing walleyes! You ever do any Canadian Lakes for Musky? I would love to try Crow Lake, Nestor Falls sometime. I know it is awesome there for some big ladies!

DANG!! No bear license for me! Only one in our group! How about anyone else?!

Honky Kong I agree totally. I went to the Vince something or other wildlife sanctuary in Orr and the that's was there big song and dance that the bears are acting natural and there still wild. Well sorry bears don't act like that in the wild.

  • dusty trails created a new topic ' Spring Plots....how is your progress??!!' in the forum.

Has anyone planted anything yet? What stage are you at? Does anyone have any pics to post?! I would love to see, with the wide range of members in many states, where everyone is at with their plots!! I haven't even started yet, since we still have some frost in the ground! UGH! Frustrating!! :) Please post some photos! I will as soon as I get started!

With the planting season that we are about to endure, which is going to be SHORT...having a soil test done is of utmost importance!! Please check out my Blog Entry: truefriendsoutdoors.com/index.php/i-see-...successful-food-plot and find out how, in your area, you can take part in an easy process to having your soil tested.

Thanks, TFO!!! Looking forward to seeing some photos!

  • dusty trails replied to the topic 'Fishing Line, What do you prefer?' in the forum.

Hey fellas! I was JUST thinking about this today...as it is raining, and not snowing, so my attention turned to my reels that are still holding old line. I usually go with 6 lb test and make my own Lindy's with 8 lb test. Not sure what BRAND to get? I always struggle with this part. It is the type of thing I don't want to research, I just want someone to tell me what works best. Colors, sizes, blah, blah, blah....just tell me what works best!! :) :)

I am going to be heading to a local bait store today. Hopefully the owner is in and can give me some advice. How about the stupid line NOT falling off the reel as I cast out into the water. I realize this is application operator error, but HOW ANNOYING! :)

SO, that all being said, what do you all suggest for size, brand and color?? Seeking some serious help here!! :)

I have been really slacking in my outdoor adventures lately! Usually by now I have new line on my fishing rods, diamond willow sticks in the garage and horses brushed out of their winter coats! I can say I finally had some time, during a house building project, to get some free therapy. I took my horse for a long bareback run down some country dirt trails! It was awesome! Thank you Mother Nature for giving us a couple days of sunshine!

  • dusty trails created a new topic ' Used Bow for Female' in the forum.

Hey TFOers! I am looking to replace my dinosaur bow. I am not in the market (Which I regret!!) for a new, expensive bow, but would love to upgrade to a used model! I would LOVE to go with an Athens, but I am sure with their quality no one is getting rid of any of them! I have too many other hobbies (building a house, horses, fishing, rifle hunting, food plots, building a pasture) to be able to afford new. Does anyone out there know of a used bow, right handed, for sale? Thank you in advance!!

    Happy Trails!
