Deer Management

Deer Management
Managing deer in your area     We all know the feeling of the first buck you see during season right? I know my adrenaline of just seeing the first deer of the season is very satisfying even if it’s a doe! Do YOU shoot it or do you wait? Well I want to discuss this topic further. Do you wait for the “Big” buck or do you shoot the first deer you see? Are you doing it for the sport, for the meat, or possibly because you have a trigger finger? I was doing some research online about the biggest typical...

Hunting Lull...

Hunting Lull...
Deer and bear hunting are over. The DNR has forced you to take your ice house off the lake. No worries my friends, your hunting skills will be tested soon! You may  wonder....What caliber gun? What camo do I wear? There will be no need to gas up the four wheeler or get an expensive guide. You will need. Boots, a water bottle, and a ice cream bucket. We still have one license left to fill and yes it's mine. I had my opportunities. Hopefully there is a couple left. Now it is archery season here in Minnesota. We have a few good trips planned for this year. A couple of us are heading down to southern Ohio. We have been down there the last few years and seen some real giants....

Turkey Hunting Tips
For many years I have been hutning the elusive MN gobbler. Well at least there elusive when your hutning them. Doesn't it seem like they could be a family pet when the season is over or before it starts? They drive me crazy! Over the years I have picked up a few good tips that help me stay successful in the turkey woods. First thing I do is thry to enter the woods as quiet as possible. Basically like deer hunting. The big smart toms will know when his woods is being disturbed. There is no reason an hour to a...
