Eskimo has been making quality ice fishing gear for years now. They have a great reputation and their service is very good. So when it was time for me to get a new auger, it was a no brainer. I picked up the Mako 43cc and have been happy. At first glance you will notice that the powder coating and decals on the auger are done well. Fish chowder
Favorite fish chowder INGREDIENTS: 1 large onion, chopped1/2 cup butter or margarine4 cups water6 cups diced peeled potatoes2 pounds fresh or frozen cod fillets, cut into large chuncks3 tablespoons lemon juice2 cups milk2 (12 fluid ounce) cans evaporated milk2 1/2 teaspoons salt2 teaspoons pepperChopped fresh parsley DIRECTIONS: 1. In a Dutch oven or soup kettle, saute onion in butter. Add water and bring to a boil. Add potatoes; cook for 10 minutes. Add fish and lemon juice; reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. SQUIRREL JAMBALAYA1 squirrel (i make it 2)salt & pepper3 TB of oil2 large onions3 celery stalks1 clove garlic1/4 bell pepper (i use the whole pepper)4 TB parsley (i use 2)2 cups uncooked rice1 quart tomatoes w/juice (rough chop them if they are whole; i use homemade)2 TB saltpackage of okra (use fresh if ya got it)Cut squirrel into pieces and salt and pepper. Where This Season May Lead

We started off this season with our awesome new website True Friends Outdoors. With a few guys and girls ready, we started bear baiting. With all of us, we run six baits and harvested two male bears. We still have one license left to fill and yes it's mine. I had my opportunities. Hopefully there is a couple left. Now it is archery season here in Minnesota. We have a few good trips planned for this year. A couple of us are heading down to southern Ohio. We have been down there the last few years and seen some real giants....

Time Well Spent

A couple years ago a friend of mine was in his deer stand when a mature doe comes in to view and he was getting excited about releasing an arrow. Now it was a little cooler outside on this late fall morning, so he had a couple more layers of clothes on than usual.
