Cowboy Venison Burgers

Cowboy Venison Burgers

If you are like me making up recipes is sometimes a challenge when you have more then adequate ground venison.  I love burgers and especially with fat free ground venison.  Keeping the burgers from falling apart, without adding fat, is sometimes a challenge as well.  I made a few recipes up and had pretty good reviews, so I thought I would share!

2 lbs Ground Venison

1 packet Onion Soup Mix

1/4-1/2 cup Jalapeno Ranch Salad Dressing or Blue Cheese Dressing

1/2-3/4 cup shredded cheese (use your favorite flavor)

1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder

2-3 slices thick (chopped) bacon (I used a brown sugar flavored bacon)

Sprinkle of brown sugar

Seasoning salt and pepper

1 egg (optional)

Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix well with hands.  Form burgers to the thickness of your liking. Remember,  if your grill or pan is hot enough it holds the burgers together better. Also, if you find the right temperature you will not have to flip them very often which also helps hold them together.  These burgers, using this recipe, held together very well for me.

Good luck and enjoy!
