The effects late ice out could have on spawning fish.

The effects late ice out could have on spawning fish.
I was talking to my good buddy Ryan Ramacher a Lindy Fishing Pro the other day and had to ask him this question. What effect will the late ice out have on the fish spawn? His answer was this. Right now the females are full of eggs. If the ice stays to long and the water temp doesn't get from 43-47 degress soon all the eggs in the females will turn white and basically die. He told me 3 years ago on Mille Lacs he caught many females that were just shooting out white eggs all over his boat. The males...

Red Lake Report

Red Lake Report
The Walleyes are biting up on Red Lake! Limits were easily caught and with the new 20" rule, we're keeping some beauties. Trucks are on the ice with over 13" measured on Saturday.

Joe's Lake Cambridge

Joe's Lake Cambridge
There is a small lake called Joe's just south of Hwy 95 on the east side of Hwy 65. The DNR stocks this pond with walleye and I have heard they are catching 14"s all day long! You can see the lake heading north on 65 just south of 95.

Red Lake Open Water Report from 6.9.2013

Red Lake Open Water Report from 6.9.2013
After an awesome weekend of fishing on Upper Red Lake it is hard to come back to reality, work and the real world.  Six of us headed up after work on Thursday 6.6.13 for some superior walleye fishing.  We camped at West Wind Resort, which I highly recommend.  Beautiful on the water campsites, fire rings, full hook up, docks and harbor protected from the lake.  They have bait, a fish cleaning house, cabins, a restaurant/bar and it is all very nicely kept.  Friday was overcast for most of the day, but fishing produced.  We were catching fish in that 4-5' range,...
