We awake early and put on are camo cover

Bits of breakfast we shove down quick
Sips of coffee should do the trick

Gathering all the gear that we must take
Leaving nothing behind for our sake

Head for the truck, crank up the heat
Fix the mirror, adjust the seat

Turn on the wipers to rid the frost
Creep down the drive, make no noise, at any cost

On are way to are favorite spot
Daydreaming about all the sign we've been seeing, it should be hot!

In the headlights we come upon some deer
Were not there yet, hitting one would be our fear

Getting close to make are turn
Slow the ole truck down, is best we learn

Travel down the old grown up logging road, coming to our parking spot
The truck shuts off with a quiet "pop"

Turn on the dome light to see our face
Put on our make-up like were in a race

One final look, like were going to war
As we open up the ole truck door

We grab some spray, hose ourselves down
Up and down, everywhere, and all around

Making sure all parts are covered even our hair
To fool those noses, that will be sniffing the air

Grasping the bow from its case, makes us feel good
Laying it quietly on the truck hood

Grabbing our pack that holds all that we can never forget
To leave anything at home would be our regret

Were set, grab our bow, flip on our headlight
Sneak down the trail into the night

Slip out are famous secret deer lure
Sprinkle about to bring in the biggest, for sure!

We finally arrive to the perfect tree
Tie-off the bow, we can hardly see

Climbing quietly as we ascend
Into the stand, holding solid to the tree, like its a good friend

We tether-up so that we don't fall
Its a long way down as I recall

Hang up our pack, pull up the bow, put a arrow in, adjust the peep
Hang it on the hook, set quietly down on the seat

We give a quiet sigh, as we wait for shooting light
"Can't believe I made It", I did it right!

This maybe our first time, this won't be our last!
